Not everyone can afford a trip to drug rehab, but not everyone will have to.  In some cases, you can find funding agencies that will pay for your trip to detox if you do not have insurance or Medicaid.  The best way to find out about this is to call up drug rehabs in your area and ask them what your options are.  Do not just assume that you cannot afford to go treatment, because it might be the case that you can secure funding through state or government programs.

It is one thing to go through detox and actually get the drug out of the body, but this does not help much if they addict leaves rehab and simply goes out and uses heroin again.  If this is the case and you find yourself relapsing over and over again, then you might need additional addiction help beyond just detox.  For example, you might go to residential treatment, group therapy, NA meetings, or even live in a long term rehab center.  These are all options that might enable you to break through your pattern of constant relapse.
